Selkirk Mountains, interior British Columbia
Revelstoke Mountain Resort
A destination mountain rather than a day trip. Revelstoke sits on Mount Mackenzie in the Selkirks, with the longest lift served vertical in North America and a reputation for deep, dry interior snow. Plan it as a multi day trip from Vancouver, not a weekend drive and back.
The big interior trip: the longest lift served vertical in North America.

Trail map
We do not redraw resort maps. This is the mountain's own map, kept current by the resort.
The same page carries the printable winter map plus 2D and 3D interactive versions.
Terrain and ability
- Beginner: workable but limited in share. The lower mountain has learning terrain, though the mountain is weighted towards stronger skiers and snowboarders.
- Intermediate: long groomed descents and gladed zones, and the vertical means a single run can be longer than a whole lap elsewhere.
- Advanced and expert: the reason to make the trip. Alpine bowls, steep pitches and heavily gladed terrain.
Deep days are common here, so skiers and snowboarders often choose more float than they would for a North Shore groomer. The sustained vertical also rewards a stiffer setup than a short local lap needs.
Getting there
- Roughly a six to seven hour drive east of Vancouver on the Trans Canada Highway, so most people stay overnight rather than day trip.
- Winter tyres or chains are required, and passes such as Rogers Pass can close for avalanche control. Check highway conditions before you leave.
- Kelowna is the nearest larger airport, with a road transfer from there. Day parking and slopeside accommodation are at the village base.
Plan your stay
Most people stay overnight for a Revelstoke trip. One place to stay is The Sutton Place Hotel: ski-in, ski-out at the resort base. Compare it with a town-based hotel.
Tickets and passes
- Winter lift tickets and multi day tickets are sold by the resort, and advance online purchase is cheaper than the window.
- Early season offers close on published deadlines. Check the official ticket page for current terms.

Rentals, lessons and family
- Slopeside rental and demo shop at the base, plus a Mountain Snow School running adult, kids and private programmes.
- Family friendly on the lower mountain, though the bulk of the terrain suits confident skiers and snowboarders.
- Fit boots and tune boards in Vancouver before you drive out, and treat the rental shop as the backup.
Conditions and webcams
Snow, lift status and webcams change hour to hour, so they stay with the resort.
