Sea to Sky, British Columbia

Whistler Blackcomb

Two linked mountains north of Vancouver, large enough that most skiers and snowboarders only see part of it in a season. Best planned as a full day or an overnight rather than a quick after-work lap.

The big destination day or weekend, with terrain for every ability.

Terrain and ability

  • Beginner: dedicated learning areas and long green runs on both mountains, so a first day does not have to mean one short slope.
  • Intermediate: the widest choice of the local mountains. Long groomed cruisers let you build mileage without committing to steep terrain.
  • Advanced and expert: alpine bowls, steeps and trees once the upper mountain is open.

Long flat traverses and connector runs are a real factor here. Snowboarders often prefer a slightly stiffer setup for the distance covered.

Getting there

  • Roughly a two hour drive from Vancouver on Highway 99, longer in winter weather.
  • Winter tyres or chains are required on Highway 99 in winter. Check road conditions before leaving.
  • Paid day lots at the base areas, plus scheduled coach services from Vancouver. Book ahead on weekends and holidays.

Tickets and passes

  • Lift tickets and season passes are sold by the resort. Advance online purchase is usually cheaper than the window.
  • Multi-resort passes cover this mountain. Check the current terms on the official site before buying a single day.

  • Early season pricing closes well before opening day. Check the official page for current deadlines and terms.

Passes are sold by the resort, and we do not list prices or take a cut. Official season passes →
